Financial/Management accounting role within a £35m turnover plastic food packaging manufacturing company, the UK subsidiary of a large French group.Main duties involved month-end reporting, variance analysis, budgeting and forecasting.Involved in various projects including;sales and profitability investigations, automation of month end and reporting tasks to speed up reporting cycle,detailed analysis of overhead spends to identify potential cost savings,procedures for transport and maintenance cost recording to inform management decisionsamongst others.Responsible for governmental reporting including VAT, Intrastat and others (e.g. National Statistics). Responsible for dealing with VAT and Intrastat visits (1 of each to date with no issues reported) Back up for other finance functions (payroll, purchase ledger, cost accountant as required)Large involvement in budgetary process including wage and salary and overhead forecasting.Involved in year-end audit process.

Working in Management Information team within the internal finance department.Responsibilities include production of monthly management accounts pack for whole of commission including selected supporting schedules and breakdown. Working with Finance Managers within the different business units of the Commission to produce and challenge monthly journals and adjustments. Key Duties and AchievementsPrimary role was production of management reporting and analysis for senior management and for its American parent company. This involved both reporting on manufacturing side of business (profitability, stock etc) and project/design side. This entailed liaising with project managers on project cost estimates and reporting issues including estimating accrued revenue to be recognized and work in progress value.Managed and led company budgetary process, coordinating, pulling in and challenging information from all departments and projects. Created salary and overhead models to show impact of differing headcount scenarios on internal hourly recovery rates.Very involved in handover periods between a series of permanent and interim Financial Directors as a 'knowledge base' as the company went through a transition period. Ability to absorb and impart detail of the finance systems very quickly was deemed vital.Involved in Sarbanes Oxley testing and certification in line with US parent company guidelines.

Produced management accounts to board and branch managers on profit centre basis for each branch. Worked closely with Finance Director and subsequently Managing Director while new FD was recruited.Avalon Trade Finishers - Company Accountant for £2m turnover print finishing company. Responsible for all financial aspects of company, including cashflow, payroll, budgeting, dealing with external stakeholders (banks, auditors, invoice factoring company etc).Burgess Salmon Solicitors Project Accountant for large Bristol law firm. Successfully resolved issues in large fixed asset system where the output was not corresponding with manual calculations.Airbus UK Management Accountant role. Produced business reports with commentary and variance analysis. Collated and challenged project budgets and costings for annual and monthly forecasting.

No 1 role in the UK finance department for a subsidiary of a Canadian environmental engineering company. Responsible for day to day and ongoing financial aspects including cash flow and strategic financial planning.Key Duties and AchievementsHelped oversee turnover growth from £2m to £4m as part of the management team and implemented appropriate financial controls.Expanded finance department from existing size of 1 to 2 by recruiting a purchase/sales ledger clerk.Ran a 70 person payroll with all associated reporting and year end returns.Moved reporting cycle from existing standard of 20 days after quarter end to monthly and expanded monthly reporting pack e.g. cash flow projections and updated forecasts.Assisted in establishing an Irish subsidiary company including company registration, VAT registration, bank accounts etc. Introduced regular Work in Progress reporting and controls to ensure minimisation of working capital.
