Peter Britton's "Working for the World. The Evolution of Australian Volunteers International" was published in 2019 by Australian Scholarly Publications, Melbourne. Launched by Gareth Evans. Peter worked at Australian Volunteers International (AVI) from 1984 to 2016 and for most of that period served in the organisation’s Executive Team. His role encompassed leading AVI’s international programs and activities in Asia, the Pacific Islands, Africa and the Middle East.Prior to his role with AVI, Peter spent extensive periods living and working in Indonesia. His work on the Indonesian army published in 1996 continues to be widely read and referenced today. Peter's background in political science and history is represented in articles and book chapters since the 1970s.
