Peter is an independent consultant, now retired from full-time work and working strategically for a range of clients. He is a Chartered Engineer, Chartered IT Professional and Fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering. He is widely recognised as a leading systems engineering practitioner, having lectured and published extensively in the field as well as having contributed to many complex programmes and capability improvement initiatives. His activities centre on IT and complex distributed systems in the Defence and Security domains, mainly acting for the client side. He has had a long career in the defence R&D establishments and agencies, with secondments to MOD, most recently as Head of the Integration Authority in the DPA and previously as Chief Scientist for the Army. He was awarded a visiting professorship at the Cranfield University/Defence Academy and retains an active presence in the academic and professional communities, especially INCOSE, which awarded him a Distinguished Fellowship in 2015.
