Grace Removals Group encompasses Grace Removals, Grace Records Management, Grace Information Management, Grace Fine Arts, Grace Self-Storage, with a local estimated turnover of $200m+, employing 1,000+ employees, franchise branches and contractorsAs the FD I have Finance and Operational leadership for Grace Worldwide (Australia) Limited reporting to the Group MD and a dotted line to Senior President of the global Crown Relocations Group.Leadership of thee direct reports including the Group Accounting Manager, Group IT Manager, and Group Human Resources Manager. I lead a total team of 37 FTEs. As Chair of the Property team I oversee the control of the Group’s property portfolio of 65 properties in Australia and NZ.Board member of the Grace Group Board of Directors, Executive Leadership Team member and 2IC to the Group MDI was directly involved with the negotiation, assessment of many acquisitions and including the overseeing of two major Grace Records acquisitions that have produced an EBITDA of 40% in one acquisition, and 90 % in the other. The tender and deployment of a completely new data and telecommunications network throughout the Grace Group, including VOIP and a greater capacity for the Grace data network. This resulted in reducing the company’s telecommunications costs by 31%

Kennards Hire is an all-Australian family owned business, specialising in the hiring of tools, equipment and vehicles. It has a branch network of over 105 branches Australia wide. Estimated turnover of $200m+, employing 1,000+employees Responsible for all finance, company secretarial, tax, treasury, accounting and administration functions for the Group. Leading a team of 42 finance and accounting people.I sat on the Kennards IT team which controlled the strategic and operational IT needs of the business. I was directly involved with the assessment and deployment of two ERP systems, and the review of the Group’s IT infrastructureWorking closely with the CEO we grew the Kennards Hire Group from a turnover size of $17m to $200m, and the number of branches growing from 20 to 105. EBITDA during this period grew on average from high 20s% to mid-30s %Development of a ROI Financial model which greatly assisted management and the Board to assess the viability of proposed acquisitions.The rationalisation of a complex corporate structure and the re-engineering of accounting and administrative systems, combined with the establishment of a Back Office Quality Assessment scheme, resulting cost reductions of 3.5% of revenue to 1.9 %The establishment and subsequent administration of the Staff Equity Participation Plan, which included a staff take up of 100%, and the full repayment of the share value by members within five years of joining.
