We were a small team of 4 contracting to a major iron ore miner.We were engaged mainlyfor the clearing the vegetation from (and making safe accessibilty for) the infrastructure along the 220kv power corridor that links the miners network of mines in the Coastal, West Pilbara and East Pilbara.Our team also performed various civil earthworks throughout the Pilbara.My role within this team was one of a leading hand and all round machine and technology operator.

This position was with the Greater Hope Downs operation where I was supervising the various Contractors involved with mining. This included machinery and plant suppliers as well as stand alone contracts for works.I was heavily involved with the in pit crushing program that enabled Hope Downs 4 to meet the First Ore On Train and supplied all the data and production projections to senior management.I was also privileged to have supervised the Indigenous employment section of mine… Show more This position was with the Greater Hope Downs operation where I was supervising the various Contractors involved with mining. After starting as Appointed Shotfirer when Hope Downs 1 commenced mining operations in 2007, I fulfilled the role of relieving supervisor regularly until my appointment as full time supervisor in 2010.This role was continually evolving and for the most part also included the relief Production Supervisor position during shift change days.During this period I was afforded the opportunity to gain my Restricted Quarry Manager qualification.
