I supported the Yolo Bypass Salmonid Habitat Restoration and Fish Passage Project in permitting, planning, and field work, including species surveys and wetland delineations. Led permitting for the Fremont Weir Adult Fish Passage Modification project. Led the permitting and environmental compliance for Wallace Weir, Fremont Weir, and agricultural crossing geotechnical explorations. Served as an assistant to senior biologists on avian and botany surveys and wetland delineations. Led and assisted with writing Biological Assessments. I also conducted field visits with regulatory staff from USACE and USFWS to discuss permitting strategies for CWA Section 404 permits and USFWS Section 7 consultations. I have received extensive training, including the Wetland Training Institute's Basic Wetland Delineation course, Visionary Integration Professionals’ Project Management Applications Workshop, the Institute for Sustainable Infrastructure’s Envision Infrastructure Rating System, and DWR and ESRI GIS training. I was also a member of the DWR Agricultural Lands Stewardship Workgroup, which is a group of DWR employees from various divisions working to develop strategies to help DWR support and sustain California's diverse agricultural community.

Performed environmental due diligence reviews of property transactions, including the sale of properties with potential mitigation value. Due diligence reviews included an analysis of habitat assessments and wetland delineations performed by outside consultants and ground truthing mapped wetlands and various Central Valley habitats, including non-native grasslands and oak woodlands. Consulted on the applicability of CEQA and the level of CEQA review necessary for projects under consideration. Also researched partnering with government agencies on EPA Brownfields Assessment Grant applications for cleanup of former nursery sites which were potentially contaminated with fertilizer and petroleum by-products. Assisted with clerical work supporting loan applications.

Assisted clients with preparation and submittal of Clean Water Act Section 404 Individual Permit Applications to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (Corps). Also prepared and submitted applications and documents in support of Individual Permit Applications including Section 404(b)(1) Alternatives Analyses, Central Valley Regional Quality Control Board (CVRWQCB) Section 401 Water Quality Certification Requests, and California Department of Fish and Game (CDFG) Notification of Lake or Streambed Alteration Applications. Prepared and obtained various other permits and approvals including CDFG Consistency Determinations, State Land Leases and tree removal permits. Attended client meetings acting as an agency liaison and assisted with permitting strategies covering a wide range of topics including endangered species mitigation, on-site preserve design, and CEQA compliance. Coordinated with biologists and GIS staff to respond to client and agency requests.
