Denník N is a Slovak daily newspaper and a news website. We are developing a set of open-source tools called REMP to help publishers understand and monetize their audience better, market their content and sell their services. We’ve tested the software on our website, the websites of our two partners, and released it as an open-source, allowing any other publisher to use it for free and contribute with their own improvements.

My self-employment hobby activity around broadcasting / live streaming of an live events and gaining experience about IP technologies to transmission video, audio, lights signals (NDI, SMPTE ST2110, DANTE...).- My first experience in broadcast / self-taught.- Occasational external work for broadcast companies- Computer network background (VLANs, PoE, protocols, standards, ...).- In most cases usage of IP-based protocols NDI, DANTE, IP Visca. Tried SMPTE ST2110.- Software switchers: vMix, Wirecast, Livestream Studio. Very limited experience with NewTek TriCaster and Panasonic Kairos.- Hardware switchers: Blackmagic Design ATEM- Deploying larger solutions with usage of fibers instead of SDI or ethernet runs (both for network/audio or video over fiber) and multi ME environment (multiple isolated video mixes/feeds to the venue or so; IMAG).- Providing ours backup or main WAN connection (LTE/4G/5G) with optional usage of celluar bonding (self-hosted Kiloview Kilolink, LiveU, ..).- Building my own restream VPS servers (NGINX RTMP)- During covid, remote production (necessary staff in a venue and sending isolated video & audio feeds through SRT protocol to vMix on remote location). - Mostly during covid, broadcasting of Zoom/Teams/Remote meetings.- Experiences from small conferences or talks to music festivals.- Audio engineering for broadcast (mostly digital mixer with DANTE AVIO adapters or card)- Thanks to my software development background I could integrate multiple external systems with broadcast (Figure skating data to broadcast graphics, live chats, ...), scripts, deeper undestanding of a software based switchers.- A few experiences with a PA sound mixing + signal splitting.- A few experiences with a lightning using DMX and DMX over IP/ArtNet.- My rule(s): If I had to choose: audio first, video second (in most cases)!
