Peter has retired but remains available for short term consultancies in the following areas:"Check measure" range inspection or design review of existing or proposed ranges prior to submission to government safety certification authorities.Analysis of firing range danger areas for existing and proposed ranges using detirministic and/or probabalistic methodologies. Conduct of GIS based range design analysis allowing incorporation of a wide variety of source material including topographic models, 3D design models, construction drawings, survey data, mapping and imagery into a single product.Creation of briefing graphics presenting the results of range design and range danger area analyses in a form suitable for non technical audiences.Experience:Peter completed five years as the Range Certification Officer for a UAE Government Agency involved in providing range design advice to enable delivery of the Master Training Facility Programme. This involved acting as the firing range design and safety certification SME for development of a fleet of the most advanced and capable small arms ranges in the world.Peter moved into the private sector after a long career with the Department of Defence as a Range Inspector for all ranges in WA, ACT and NSW Regions. Peter was the longest serving and most experienced Range Certification Officer in Australia both in total of ranges inspected and in breadth of range types, firearms used and training/sporting outcomes, and his portfolio included certifications for all Special Forces ranges and covered over 140 individual facilities.
