• Focus: Corporate growth initiatives, Motorola Life Sciences, equity investments. • Solutions: Established and led the financial operations of Motorola’s Life Science businesses to add new corporate core competencies, new markets, and new customers. Responsible for controllership, policy, staffing, controls, customer contracts, equity / IP investments, business development and transactions, manufacturing / ERP implementation, R&D, sales and distribution, reporting, compensation, and IT.• Acquired a $300M development stage genetic based diagnostic testing company. Responsibilities included due diligence, scenario analysis, transaction process and execution, IPR&D and goodwill valuation, post acquisition integration, internal control implementation, and full financial responsibility for a separate legal entity. Served as entity CFO.• Saved $40M and 100 jobs by identifying and negotiating the sale of a life science business necessitated by economic and strategic shifts. Director of North American sales and marketing operations, fiducial responsibility for the internal integrity of the JV, resolution of extensive inventory and manufacturing costing issues, establishment of a new corporate culture, systems, and practices. Protected the best interests of both parents.• Negotiated contractual agreements for infrastructure equipment and services with “baby Bells” US West and PacTel. Contract execution including all revenue responsibilities.• Led post JV financial responsibility for Motorola’s US cellular infrastructure distribution business.

• Focus: Global Financial Planning and Analysis of high growth $10B segment• Solutions: Global leadership and coordination of annual financial planning, monthly forecasts, results analysis, annual LRP’s, etc., and the implementation of worldwide financial systems.• Evaluated, selected and implemented financial systems for the globally exploding cellular infrastructure and devices businesses - the weakest financial aspect of the sector. Included selection and establishment of off-the-shelf applications for dozens of subsidiaries worldwide, and the evaluation, selection, and implementation of the first non-mainframe system for multi-currency consolidation / reporting / eliminations for financial and tax reporting, planning, and analysis. • Focus / Solutions: Designed and established CASB and FAR disclosures and practices enabling cost based contracts with the US Federal government and enabling +$200M / year of profitable business. • Responsibilities included policy, pricing, accounting, certification, audit defense, impact analysis, disclosure statement submission, and management of internal systems and costs to assure compliance. Prepared and priced contracts with multiple government agencies including the White House, FBI, and DOE. • Expertise in the manufacturing (BOM, inventory, processes, purchasing, and tracking) and R&D systems and processes resulted in the successful award of contracts and successful defense of audits by the Defense Department Audit Agency and the Government Accounting Office.
