Okoemotion is a Ghanaian and American musical collaboration founded in 2008 by Okoe Ardifiyo, master drummer visiting from Ghana, and a group of Long Island musicians including me, as a drummer. Our goal at the outset was to add western instrumentation to a traditional Ghanaian ensemble. Eventually the American musicians recorded with Okoe’s Akrowa.
