My scientific expertise lies in digital pathology, artificial intelligence, image analysis and the tumour and immune microenvironment as well as in project and grant management.I am currently the Principal Scientist at Indica Labs and act as a project and product manager as well as scientific lead for all projects involving Artificial Intelligence (AI) and external collaborators.I hold honorary contracts in NHS Lothian and the University of St Andrews.I have previously worked for 8 years as a senior research scientist, at the Advanced Science and Technology Lab in AstraZeneca, in the field of High content biology; both in assay development and automated image analysis. After studying for a PhD at the University of Edinburgh, I took a position as Senior Research Fellow at the University of St Andrews and subsequently lecturer in the School of Medicine. My academic research interests lie in the field of systems, quantitative and digital pathology – focusing on image analysis and AI. My research investigated the complex interaction of tumour and immune subpopulations as well as develop automated diagnostic tools for clinical translation.
