I was an independent, experienced and respected interim manager working on project management, accounts closure under IFRS and Local Authority SORP, capital accounting, Academies, Teckal companies and BSF/PFI projects. Previously in the private sector I specialised in the defence, utilities, heavy engineering, security and chemicals industries, drawing upon six years as a management consultant with Ernst & Young and, subsequently, twelve years as chief financial officer of three large UK subsidiaries. Wide management accounting experience, particularly in financial planning and control and systems development, is complemented by line management experience in operations, in particular as de facto managing director during the two year receivership of Swan Hunter Shipbuilders, and in procurement.
