I have been involved in the transport industry all of my working career (44 years) and have a wealth of knowledge and experience in all aspects of running a fleet of vehicles from several sites. Legislation continues to grow in this area and I am continually in contact with the FTA to keep myself aware of forthcoming legislation. I have contact with HGV manufactures of which is a key area for knowing what progress there is in the development of forthcoming vehicles. Transport costs are paramount and therefore I ensure we have excellent utilisation with the lowest overall cost possible.As the Fleet Transport Manager for Wedge Group Galvanizing Ltd, I have the responsibility for operating 105 vehicles and 90 trailers for our 14 sites which gives us nationwide coverage to serve all our customers. We continue to invest in new vehicles to ensure we give a reliable service to all our customers.
