I was based in the Waste Management department. Main duties and responsibilities included: •Conducting daily inspections and monitoring all matters relating to the councils two landfill sites including boreholes, water quality, leachate, noise, dust and landfill gas. •Helped ensure improvements were made in order to remain in compliance with the Pollution, Prevention and Control permit which the landfills have to comply with. •Completed and compiled reports and records including the preparation and presentation of accurate records and statistics in order to help quantitative findings. •Undertook water and leachate sampling when required by NIEA primarily on a monthly basis.•Carried out on-site testing of leachate samples to ensure quality is maintained within set parameters Show less
