• Provide coaching and delivery of the company’s Belief based safety programme• Assist in providing operational and functional management with advice on the prevention of accidents, ill health, environmental incidents and the practical implementation of the company’s SHEQ policies in a manner that promotes ownership at the local level and facilitates problem solving• Work with senior managers and directors on the development and implementation of regional/divisional level strategies for improvement• Identify and assist the Director of SHEQ in the implementation of Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality strategies and internal policies• Proactively work with operational teams to ensure that SHEQ is considered at all stages• Provide advice in the development of safe operational risk assessments and procedures so that they identify and evaluate all relevant hazards, and minimise operational risk • Ensure the continued certification of ISO 9001, OHSAS 18001 and ISO 14001 standards• Manage and maintain systems for the companies Health Surveillance, D&A testing and training• Undertake ‘active’ monitoring (through compliance audits) of company operations highlighting areas where poor practice and/or significant risk have occurred and any failures in the IMS• Investigate accidents and incidents producing detailed factual reports identifying root causes and recommendations for improvement• Liaise with enforcing authorities as necessary• Identify Health, Safety, Quality and Environmental training needs of the company and carry out training when required• Advise the SHEQ dept. on related matters and keep them up to date with legislation change• Assist with the monitoring and reporting of SHEQ performance. Interrogate and analyse incident and environmental data to identify practical solutions to improve performance

Manage, monitor and implement Health, Safety & Environmental compliance within the depot so that policy and procedure are implemented and followed. Ensuring that Health, Safety and Environmental responsibility is highly prioritised and this is evident within the culture of the company. Monitor and report on KPI's and deport performance, taking immediate action to rectify any shortfalls to continually strive to achieve the business objectives. Ensure effective communication is maintained.Continually promote a customer service culture within the depot.Continually review depot operational effectiveness to identify and promote initiatives that will drive the business forward. Effectively manage and motivate depot staff to achieve a high performing team.To be fully aware of the Statutory Transport Legislation and ensure compliance within the depot.Manage and monitor transport activities within the depot to ensure the most efficient and cost effective use of company vehicles and/or external hauliers. To manage, monitor stock levels within the depot and implement initiatives to ensure accurate recording of stock levels.Ensure the company's HR policies with regard to discipline, grievance, absence etc are adhered to Ensure direct reports receive appropriate training in conjunction with relevant training needs and legislation.Monitor the depots budget in line with the requirements of the business, ensuring that the budget for the depot is effectively managed at all times.Working in partnerships with the sales teams to ensure first class customer service, revenue and profitability are delivered.
