As my children went through their teenage years and struggled to understand the world of work and their career options, I used my experience of the many industries I had worked with to help them consider job prospects in an informed way. I did this four times with my own children and with a large number of their pals. They were all in the same boat whether at state or independent schools, because careers advice at school was broken. And it still is. It simply doesn't give them the information they need and want in a quick and easy format to take an informed decision. It offers little more than "go with what you're good at".Working Eye is the opportunity to use my problem solving and brand building skills; the skills of like-minded professionals; the skills of passionate educationalists; the skills of award-winning filmmakers and the skills of TV researchers and broadcasters. It is our collective opportunity to help solve one of the biggest societal issues of our day.Working Eye will engage, stimulate and motivate our young people. It will give them high-quality films on their phones, tablets and laptops and offer 'career discovery' rather than directional advice. It's a place where they can find out about work, careers and job options; a place to understand what school subjects and qualifications will be required to move into any particular arena of work; a place where they can discover longer-term prospects and salary expectations, all presented in an easily digestible format (no tomes of text to read) before they select their GCSE subjects. Working Eye offers a sea change in teenager careers advice and will become a hand to hold throughout their entire working life. Show less
