Peter has over 20 years of professional experience in the medical device industry. He is primarily responsible for portfolio management, strategic planning, investment operation and coordination for cross-border partnerships. Prior to joining Amed Ventures, Peter had served as COO and CFO of Taiwan Biomaterial Co., Ltd. (TWBM). He is one of the founding members of TWBM since its establishment and led the TWBM (TWSE: 6649) through IPO in 2019. He had served as researcher at the Science and Technology Advisory Group of Executive Yuan (STAG), the Executive Yuan of Taiwan and also served as senior investment manager in the Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI). He focused on performing strategic planning for biomedical new venture at ITRI and facilitating start-ups, particularly technology spin-outs from research institutions. Meanwhile, Peter is an adjunct associate professor at Biotechnology EMBA program of Taipei Medical University, giving courses on Biomedicine Commercialization, Entrepreneurship and Innovation Management. He received his Ph.D. from the Department of Business Administration of National Central University, and completed his L.L.B. from National Chung-Hsing University. Dr. Chen has had articles published in the Technological Forecasting and Social Change, Engineering Management Journal, International Journal of Operations & Production Management, Transportation Planning and Technology, Technology Analysis & Strategic Management, Technology in Society and other journals.
