I deliver game-changing decision advantage for operators in defence, national security, law enforcement, and healthcare. As Co-Founder and Director at Polygeist, I have built capability in and executed on the gamut of board roles; CFO, CHRO, CTO, CIO, CISO, CMO, CEO, along with many of the bits that fall between the cracks. All of this is to enable our mission to empower our clients to save lives, protect the innocent, and safeguard civil liberties. I am passionate about creating novel, scientifically robust software that can provide timely, explainable insights to users, within real operational scenarios. I spend much of my time robustly delivering, influencing, and engaging on: → Strategy: Whether for product roadmaps, marketing, or engagement with our partners. → People Engineering: I get a real joy from building successful, happy, high-performing, and intellectually diverse tech teams to achieve outcomes nobody thought were possible. → Architecture: I design and build engineered solutions for operational use, often containing really novel science at its heart. → Scientific Pull-Through: Good science doesn't preclude good engineering. I run projects of scientific discovery which maintain the thread of operational delivery throughout. → Engagement: I build mutually beneficial partnerships with our customers, collaborators, suppliers, and end users. All our stakeholders are important to me - if we do our job right, everyone should be satisfied at the end. → Machine Learning: I've run some really interesting projects to build operational capability in Reinforcement Learning, Computer Vision, Generative AI, Real-Time Edge AI, NLP, and a whole host of classification and prediction problems. → Software Systems: I work natively with Python and C++, and have plenty of experience with other languages (Java, C#, Haskell, Prolog, etc.). I build high-performance, robust, cryptographically secure distributed systems, with user-friendly and flexible APIs.
