Operating as Peter Coleman LimitedI was responsible for writing the submission for Delay and Disruption to the Civil Works for the Arbitration case at present which is due before the Tribunal on the 31st May 2011.This work involves the Civil Engineering aspect of the Reactor construction which was carried out by the Areva subcontractor Bouygues (BYC). These claims which had to be written for the Arbitration submission included the following:-1. Groundwork claim – which included issues for Extension of Time, profiling issues, additional concrete, delays to start for the commencement of the reactor build. 2. Reinforced Concrete foundation detailing – including changes imposed by the employer on a design and build project, changes to the levels to allow process pipe-work changes and delays caused by the Civil Engineering Contractor.3. Structural steelwork – issues included wrong specification, delays to start, wrong corrosion treatment and changes required to accommodate process equipment including temporary works issues and design.4. General changes to the M+E and HVAC and process equipment.5. Changes to Reactor encasement.6. Delays due to client and Nuclear enforcement agency (STUK)7. Delays due to imposed checking regime BYC were employed to construct the Reactor building which is now subject to major changes in design by both client and Supplier to which there is an Arbitration action in place from Areva against TVO the client. My main task is to write the submissions for the Civil Engineering side of the dispute before the tribunal to be submitted by the Lawyers. This aspect equates to approx 500M of the 1.4 Billion dispute. Show less
