Wave Leisure Trust Ltd. was formed in 2006 as a registered charitable company limited by guarantee. We manage eight facilities in partnership with Lewes District Council, East Sussex County Council, Newhaven Town Council, Peacehaven Community School, Priory School, Ringmer Community College and Seaford Head School.The Trust is experienced in the management of all aspects of community leisure, sports and recreation services and activities, leisure centres, swimming pools, health and fitness suites and athletics tracks, as well as associated activities.Current Portfolio:Downs Leisure Centre, SeafordLewes Leisure Centre, LewesPeacehaven Leisure Centre, PeacehavenRingmer Swimming Pool, RingmerSeaford Head Pool, SeafordSeaford Head Sports Facility, SeafordSeahaven Swim & Fitness Centre, NewhavenShakespeare Hall, NewhavenRefurbishment of Shakespeare Hall: implemented a new management structure to develop community based programmes. Secured additional funding for a disabled lift to be fitted and the refurbishment of catering facilities. Funding from the Big Lottery Fund Reaching Communities has secured the future of the hall and programmes until 2014.Health & Wellbeing Frameworks: coordinating work on behalf of NHS Sussex and town councils to develop town specific frameworks that provide a link between existing strategies and realising the potential for local residents. The frameworks are working action plans to be implemented by a cross-section of partners.Joint junior activity holiday programmes: after a single town pilot in 2011, we are coordinating work on behalf of five town councils to provide comprehensive, integrated and inclusive summer holiday activity programmes for local young residents. The pilot saw over 3500 youngsters participate and it contributed to reduced anti-social behaviour within the town. Partners in the programme include town councils, county council departments, schools, police and town specific community organisations.
