At BHP Billiton I worked with the Falcon team that were involved in diamond exploration using an airborne gravity gradiometer and with the Mine Optimization team that built tools to tune the mining process to increase value.Responsibilities and Achievements:• Software maintenance and development for a geophysical data processing system that was used to process gravity and other data relating to the search for diamond pipes. This system was written in C++.• Software development and maintenance on a group of mine optimization tools written using C++.• Software developed utilising: design patterns, C++, STL, Lex, Yacc, regex, ILOG Cplex and Vcl and Rogue Wave.• Quality control for scientific data. • Converting Matlab scripts to C++ to remove the dependency on a Matlab license.• Designing and implementing a tool to merge Geosoft Montaj databases.• Designing and implementing a tool to visualize the quality of components of the data recorded by the Falcon system (laser scanner data).
