Hi, I’m Peter, Founder, Director and Business Development Manager of multi-award-winning digital marketing agency, Digital Surfer.When people find out my career started with a Bachelor of Law and as a detective in the NSW Police Force, they always ask, “So, how did you end up owning and running a digital marketing agency?” It’s pretty simple. Detective Senior ConstableNsw Police Force Mar 1997 - May 2011Sydney, New South Wales, AuYes, you read that right. Before becoming a business owner and expert in all things digital marketing, I was a police officer in the NSW Police Force, assigned in Mt. Druitt in Sydney’s West, before being transferred to Cabramatta and later to Byron Bay and the Tweed Shire.In my time in the force, I progressed from duties in uniform as a constable into surveillance duties and minor drug supply investigations, before completing my training to become a Detective Senior Constable. While it may not seem like it at first glance, the skills I learned in these roles prepared me for my journey into digital marketing and being a business owner.Being a police officer means constantly being highly aware, and being able to evolve and adapt at the drop of a hat. To be a good cop, you also need to be able to communicate effectively with anyone from any walk of life. These are skills invaluable in the world of digital marketing and owning a business, making me able to go with the flow of the ever-changing world of digital marketing and Google, and being able to connect with absolutely anyone. It allows me to help more people, someone that makes me very grateful for these skills and how they help me today.
