CurrentWorking with social housing tenants carrying out financial assessments and providing advice and guidance in sustaining their tenancies.Supporting vulnerable tenants and those with specialised needs by signposting to advice services and making appropriate referrals for additional support.Keeping abreast of welfare benefit changes and the impact they have on tenants, and taking part in learning and development activities, and contributing to change and continuous service improvement programmes, aimed to deliver more efficient services to tenants. Liaising with the Department for Work and Pensions, outside organisations, welfare agencies, and any other bodies or individuals which may be involved in income collection in accordance with the Data Protection Act.Representing the council at court hearings. This includes initiating legal proceedings by preparing and serving legal notices, writing professional and detailed reports for court hearings, and presenting cases in court, and ensuring compliance with the Rent Arrears Pre-Action Protocol.
