Peter Cameron is a globally leading professor with a specialism in energy law, who sits as an international arbitrator, and acts as expert witness in arbitral proceedings. Qualified as a barrister, he is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, a member of the LCIA, the ICCA and IBA and is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Edinburgh. Peter is frequently invited to speak at international conferences, such as the ICCA biennial conference, the IBA annual conference, the ITA/IEL/ICC 10th annual conference on international energy arbitration in Houston (keynote) and Bucharest Arbitration Day (keynote) (all in 2022). His most recent publication is the second edition of the standard work on 'stabilisation', ' International Energy Investment Law: the Pursuit of Stability' (Oxford University Press, 2021). He is the editor-in-chief of the journal, ' Global Energy Law and Sustainability' (Edinburgh University Press). His arbitration experience includes ICSID and ICC cases, and he has testified as expert before the SCC, SIAC, LCIA, ICC, the Commercial Court and the Milan Criminal Court. His research has been variously funded by The World Bank, the UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office and DfID. His book on the extractives industries, 'Oil, Gas and Mining: A Sourcebook for Understanding the Extractives Industries', published by The World Bank, has been downloaded more than 80,000 times. On the European energy law scene, he is active as Vice President of the European Federation of Energy Law Associations.
