My interests in life are reflected in my activities on the professional market. These activities are based on three pillars: the pillar of science, the pillar of art, and the pillar of budo (traditional Japanse martial arts).The concept of Homo Universalis (see e.g. http://nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Uomo_universale) really appeals to me. I in no way want to compare myself to prominent historical figures like e.g. Leonardo da Vinci as the embodiment of the ideal of the uomo universale. However, I do strive to develop myself as one.My areas of interest cross-fertilize each other resulting in my philosophy of life and my desire to educate people in the various skills that I possess. For those interested, my philosophy of life entails acknowledging its complete uselessness (i.e. life has no goal), yet living it purposefully and positively in harmony with the environment, trying to be friendly to others, striving for kōfuku (happiness), and ultimately achieving ikigai (self-realization). In addition, success (whatever that may be) is a consequence of one's actions, never a goal.
