Danks Trust provides financial support to communities in need, thanks to perpetual charitable gifts by Sir Aaron Turner Danks in 1928 & Annie Danks MBE in 1969. Trustees hold the corpus upon trust and distribute the income earned as grants to eligible not-for-profit charitable organisations via a written application process (contact danks.trust@gmail.com).

After 12 years on the company board, Peter project managed the sale of Danks (HOME Hardware, Thrifty Link & Plants Plus) to the Woolworths / Lowe's joint venture in 2009. 2005-06 Volvo Ocean Race teams pushed the limits of human endurance as they raced ‘leading-edge’ yachts >31,250 nm around the globe. The Race Director described Melbourne as “.. the best-ever stopover ...”. The event increased Victoria's Gross State Product by >$27m. Celebrations featuring >60 events were enjoyed by >335,000 people on-land, >24,000 spectators on-water (>2,400 boats), >5,650 school kids and >900 recreational boats. Festivities included food & wine festival, fireworks, live music & entertainment.

Supported Mark to launch his career as a Formula One driver that started with Minardi (5th in first F1 race in Melbourne) and continued in the top echelon of world motorsport, including driving for Jaguar Racing, Red Bull Racing and Porche FIA Endurance team. Mark won nine Grands Prix and was part of four Red Bull Racing constructor World Championships.

Reporting to the CEO and working closely with the Chair, the role held responsibility for Sales & Marketing Strategy and the sales of Corporate Hospitality, Sponsorship, Ticketing & Tourism (approx. 90% of total revenue). Part of the leadership team that set a new benchmark for the hosting of Formula One Grand Prix events.
