I am presently providing technical and administrative support to a small accountancy firm located in Midlothian. My chief responsibilities are to help maintain the quality of information stored on our clients and to ensure that any information we have complies with GDPR guidelines. In addition I ensure that the hardware and software solutions used within the company are available and working when required. This has gained me some experience in troubleshooting microsoft based software as well as some accountancy based software like Iris and Sage.

While working for FDM I received high quality training in becoming a Business Intelligence Consultant, from this training I gained a variety of skills, which can be viewed on my profile. To describe a Business Intelligence Consultant, it would be making Data work harder for companies and using the tools of ETL (Extract transform and load) via Microsoft SSIS and SQL as well as being able to visualise the data into a more easily digestible form with tools such as Power BI, Tableau or SAS.While working here there was a great establishment of community between all the members of staff to provide a friendly environment. As such when the opportunity came up to volunteer to help train some of the new staff members, I took it. It was a beneficial experience for myself personally as it reinforced my own knowledge on the skills and subjects covered. It also allowed me to get to know the new Business Intelligence Consultants and hear some of their new ideas.Overall I found the experience working for FDM as beneficial having gained new skills and forging new contacts.

I worked as an intern for the service department at Bosch Rexroth Ltd. for a period of six months. This particular branch was focused on the production and maintenance of Radial Piston Hydraulic Motors.Key tasks included conducting the monthly check of the health, safety and cleanliness of the service workshop. In addition several projects regarding the manuals and parts relating to these motors were conducted, to make it easier for other service departments to work with these motors.

I worked part time as one of the sales team at Currys PC World in Fort Kinaird, Edinburgh.While working at Currys my speciality was in regard to PCs and other computers, however I learned also about white goods such as fridges, washing machines as well as other areas of electronics, like cameras or televisions.A useful skill gained was learning the needs of customers and then applying them to provide them with the best product and service that we could provide. This was important especially during the Christmas holiday season where the number of customers greatly increases.I left this employment as I had found other work at Bosch Rexroth Ltd.
