As a documentary photographer I have observed and photographed peculiar human behaviour for over 10 years. Especially in my hometown Hoek van Holland, where I made series about the 'Scootrangers', 'Meerkats' and the short life of a palmtree. On commission I worked for clients such as NRC Handelsblad, Vrij Nederland, de Volkskrant and the Süddeutsche Zeitung.In 2020 I switched from making photos to transforming old bunkers. For foundation Stelling 33 I work together with young designers, historians, architects and ecologists, researching the contemporary significance of the controversial ‘Atlantikwall’. Our biggest project is 'Cocondo': the transformation of bunkers into ecological and meaningful places to stay. I also hold a historical archive concerning the German Atlantikwall in Hoek van Holland. A defense line that had a big impact on the town during the Second World War. I study it's roll and meaning in today's time and society.
