Quality and safety heads the list in the aviation industry and is engrained at a personal level in all that I do as the Test Cell Lead Mechanic with Safran Helicopter Engineers (Turbomeca Australia when I started out as Aircraft Mechanic on electric, fuel, oil, hydraulic and pneumatic systems in 2004).On a daily basis I demonstrate leadership and management in driving and implementing change, leading by example to create a positive and flexible culture within the workplace. With a courteous, friendly approach and clear, ‘audience appropriate’ communication skills I am able to influence, guide and train teams across process and performance improvements; technical competency; and safety and compliance.I have a high level of experience and proficiency as a trade qualified Aircraft Mechanic and can turn my hand to anything mechanical. In my downtime I gain a lot of enjoyment from working on my family motor vehicles and bicycles, and my motorbike. Professionally, I love tackling and resolving challenges both independently and leading or participating as a member within an expert team coming together to brainstorm solutions and resolve complex issues. Training and mentoring staff to a high level of proficiency, and guiding someone in learning new processes, systems and technologies, gives me a great deal of satisfaction, as does learning new processes and systems for my own professional advancement and interest. Travelling to France on a number of occasions to gain qualifications in new engine variants or procedures, then bringing this new information or techniques back to Australia to train up team members, has been highly rewarding. Currently I am open to new learning and growth opportunities, to transitioning my skills into new industries, and moving into higher levels of management accountability. As such, I would welcome contact and frank discussion.
