As Chamberlain of London (Director of Finance for the City of London Corporation), Peter Derrick had responsibility for all aspects of financial management including treasury operations, investment strategy and IT systems. Prior to the City he was Director of Finance for Surrey County Council and two London boroughs, covering a period of over 20 years. Peter has held a number of non-executive positions since his retirement from full-time work in 2007. Currently he is Chairman of the Finance Committee of the south-west London NHS Primary Care Trusts overseeing the commissioning of over £2.3bn of health care for a population of over 1 million people; independent audit adviser to the London Pension Fund Authority and a director of Trafalgar Quadrant hedge fund. Peter has a deep understanding of public finance, project leadership and investment and treasury operations.
