Clinical veterinarian specialized in zoological medicine with experience in zoo, aquatics, wildlife, and exotics. Broadly interested in conservation medicine, in-situ and ex-situ conservation, disease ecology and evidence-based medicine.In addition to my clinical duties as a zoo veterinarian, I am conducting a longitudinal health assessment of elasmobranchs in NJ coastal waters and finishing a multipronged investigation into some aspects of elephant clinical pathology. I serve as a veterinary advisor to the AZA's New World Primate TAG and Lion Tamarin SSP and I teach zoological medicine to veterinary students, wild animal husbandry and conservation to undergraduate students, and provide continuing education for veterinarians. I continue to work per diem in an exotic companion animal specialty practice.
