6 month contract working remotely.

My role within the QLD office is to develop and pursue sales opportunities within the Queensland and Northern NSW region.

Managing the Qld Sales and PM team. Providing a seamless experience between the sales to installation process.Within this role I was also delegated key jobs for the State Manager and the Installation manager to help keep the installation team meeting time frames. This was on top of duties to keep the Sales & Project Managers on track for meeting the sales budgets.

Within this role I was required to seek new opportunities, clarify requirements and turn these into warm & hot leads, send out proposals, follow up, negotiate and close the sale. To compliment this role I was also required to understand relevant building code, AS/NZ and EN Standard’s, Design specifications and performance requirements.A completed sale then started a work flow of ordering drawings, finalising contract negations, approving equipment for manufacture, onsite visits and follow up, handover to the installation team, managing the site team and handing the project over once the building was complete to the final client.

As my role within the project progressed, I was requested to move to site so that I was closer to the rest of the design team. My tasks on site include: concept designs, design progression, delegating work, research into upcoming technologies, developing working prototypes, producing drawing packages for manufacture.

This role allowed me to progress from a design engineer to running my own projects. Within this I was required to talk to clients and suppliers, create design concepts and pitch designs to the client, outlining relevant calculations, managing timelines, delegating tasks to junior engineers and drafters, checking all work was performed to an acceptable standard.

When working within this role I was working closely with senior engineers. I was able to follow their lead and perform the menial tasks as required these included: reading of standards, completing relevant calculations, working to strict timeframes, detailing designs and compiling reports for customers.

Working closely with key engineers within the company, applying what I have learnt through study to the real world.

Part time - while finishing Engineering full time.While working within the carpark I was able to work on my interactions with clients(customers) and with management. This allowed me to handle conflict resolution, driving of customer vehicles, handling of money, supervising others, data collection and entry, developing procedural manuals, and troubleshooting machine issues.

Organising and structuring a run which ranged from Chermside to Ipswich, delivering medical and lab equipment before closing time and negotiating traffic.

Was a member of the team that helped to understand and write a user manual for new install of the carpark equipment. While helping customers through the transition phase towards an automated carpark. Dealing with money and problem customers helping resolve issues of misunderstandings.

Started to learn the basics of the mechanic's trade while learning the need to have a clean workshop and to be presentable to customers.

Organising and running social events for current engineering students.
