Hi there! Nice that you are reading the info on my Linkedin page. I started playing drums at the age of 14. I studied for 6 years with the late and great Fred van Vloten. When I was 16 I began playing in a bluesband. From that point on I got asked to play with several bands/artists and I became interested in different styles of music. I wanted to make a living as a working drummer. Eventually I started my own company in 2002 called Pete's Beat Department. I work as a jobbing drummer, (drum and band) coach and drum tuning specialist.FREELANCE DRUMMER:As a freelance drummer I work with a lot of different musicians/bands. I love the variety and the excitement of meeting new people with whom I can work on different ideas and play music in several settings. I love a wide range of musical styles but my roots lay in the old school R&B and Rock music.To name a few artists/bands that I have worked with: Meike van der Veer, Big John Russell, Sebastian Mego, Shane Alexander, Dennis Kolen, Wies, Christon, Smoking Beaver, Sunset Travellers, The Crown Jewels, Radio Rental, BlueShaker, M-Bush, Captain Midnight, Black Opal Blues, The Disco Disciples, Bernhard Reinke and many others. DRUM- AND BANDCOACHING:As a coach I help and inspire drummers and bands to succesfully gain their goals. For drummers it could for instance be something like preparing for an audition for a conservatory, how to play a solo or create drumparts, how to learn songs quickly for sessions or getting their chops and skills to a higher level. For bands it's mostly getting them to work better as a team (both in playing and communicating), helping them to use their rehearsal time more effectively, working on the points of improvement and working on stage performance. I just love to coach people to succes an be a part of their development and growth.DRUM TUNING:I consider myself a drum tuning specialist. I have a good amount of customers who call me up to tune their drums. Sometimes it's just a maintenance job so the drums sound in tune again. But sometimes a customer asks me for a special or personal sound. That's when I also give advice on what drumheads to use before tuning. I love to get a great sound out of drums and make drummers happy to play "in tune" with their instrument again!
