Commenced work in January 1976 as apprentice Plumber with Melbourne Harbor Trust Commissioners. Since then have worked as a plumber up until 1993. In 1993 was made leading hand plumber. Main areas of work included maintaining water main reticulation system for port area and maintaining salt water fire fighting systems. In 1996 took up position of Plumbing Inspector in the newly formed Melbourne Port Corporation. Title changed to Asset Supervisor around 2000 and have stayed in this roll up until January 2017. During the last 15 years have been involved in supervising many different trades in relation to asset maintenance for the Port of Melbourne Corporation including 20 years of on call availability.Have been heavily involved with Cruise Shipping at Station Pier between 2005 and 2016 up until the split of Port of Melbourne Operations Pty Ltd and Victorian Ports Corporation Melbourne. This included assisting Cruise shipping Department along with maintenance to gangways, escalators, lifts, electrical equipment, plumbing equipment, baggage handling equipment etc. Retired from Port of Melbourne in January 2017.Commenced worked with C J Pearce in February 2017 to assist in maintenance contract at hazardous berths which C J Pearce currently have with the Port of Melbourne. Finished full time work with C J Peacre in September 2017 to return to manning gangways at Station Pier on a casual basis for Programmed Facility Management, KP Electrics and Waterway Constructions, via C J Pearce. Also worked for Skilled Programmed carrying out mooring duties. Commenced full time employment again with C J Pearce on the 26/2/18 after C J Pearce won maintenance tender for buildings, electrical and 50% of manning the gangways for VPCM.
