A graduate of Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (RMIT) University, Peter began his career in local government before moving into the private sector. Over the last circa 30 years, he’s worked for both local and international planning practices, joining UPco (then SJB Planning) in 2008. He’s also lectured in statutory planning and master planning at Deakin UniversityWith a lifelong interest in the built environment, Peter has always been inspired by the ways in which planning can contribute to the world around us. He relishes the opportunity to collaborate with his clients, taking a very hands-on approach to understanding their challenges, and working through the tangible outcomes they’re after. Peter has advocated for clients before the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal and Panels Victoria. In addition to the raft of commercial, retail, industrial, mixed use and residential developments that dominate his time, Peter also specialises in the more ‘out of the box’ projects – particularly those where an emerging or innovative industry is paving its way forward, or when specially crafted planning mechanisms are required. Over the course of his career, he’s worked on everything from large scale renewable energy facilities, to social housing, urban renewal precincts and landmark community developments. Regardless of what the end result looks like, Peter gains great satisfaction from finding a way to make it possible – and playing a part in making societal change happen.
