• Engaged in urban forestry research for the Lab of Urban Forestry in the Anthropocene (LUFA)• Conducted field inventory of CommuniTree-planted urban trees in a variety of vegetative communities and conditions• Obtained Driver Certification for department-owned research van• Transported myself and fellow LUFA research assistants to various field sites throughout northwest Indiana• Determined location of trees with relevant applications, allocation lists, meetings with representative, and other records and communications• Reviewed and applied tree inventory protocols, tree species identification guides, and tree planting literature• Determined tree species, and assessed trees for evidence of care, crown dieback, damage, and pests or disease• Performed and recorded various measurements at each tree, including height, DBH, and caliper• Met and communicated with tree recipients, community members, and organizational leaders to coordinate tree inventory
