I am responsible for the promotion and implementation of sustainable travel initiatives at the University of Birmingham. I engage with staff and students to increase levels of sustainable and active travel to the campus as well as seeking to reduce the carbon emissions of the university. My remit also includes reducing the impact of our business travel.Current projects include implementation of electric vehicle charging points and 8 bike share stations on campus. Since joining the university I have grown the student bike hire scheme by 30% and implemented a staff loan bike scheme. I manage partnerships with Urban Cycles, Key Travel, Enterprise, National Express and West Midlands Trains. Later in 2018 will conduct our staff and student travel survey. 2016 saw a 30% response rate amongst staff and 13% amongst students.

Project Co-ordinator for Workplaces element of Birmingham Cycle Revolution.Responsible for managing relationships with over 30 workplaces across a broad spectrum of industries from large corporates to education institutions and public bodies. I manage grant applications for all of these workplaces as well as staff engagement. The workplaces range from 20 employees to 3,000. Organise a wide range of events both for workplaces and within the community.

Determining applications for Water Resources licences.

Providing advice on energy saving measures, grant funding and renewable energy to members of the public in Greater Manchester. Also delivering community engagement events across the region.
