· Working on Ambulatory Surgical Unit/Holding Room· Prepare patient of all age groups for surgery by performing an admission assessment, collection of necessary laboratory tests including phlebotomy, starting of Intravenous fluids and administering medication as needed.· Receiving patients from PACU where I assess patients to make sure they meet the discharge criteria. I also administer medication if necessary for pain or other reasons. Then I give the patients and their significant others the discharge instructions where I teach them their activities of daily living and dietary instructions and any post op care needed.
