As a career advisor at the Youth Job Center I partner with young people to explore their visions for their careers and turn that into actionable goals. Sometimes that means pursuing a training program or college, other times it means looking for a job to gain work experience.In addition to that I also work one-on-one with young people to talk about their financial goals as those are directly tied to employment. Goals vary from person to person, but I can be working with a young person on the steps to renting their first apartment, building, credit, or saving for a big purchase.

In my time as an Employment Coach at the Center for Changing Lives, I have been able to partner with our members and work with them so they can achieve their goals and visions for their lives. This was done by facilitating classes so that our members were able to move away from "just another job" and access careers in office settings and the IT field.Partnering with our members at CCL has been the highlight of my career, I love seeing them grow and realize there own power.

During my time as a job developer at the Center for Changing Lives, I was able to bring employers partners to the organization, giving our member base access to job opportunities. It was a great experience using my relationship building skills to advance the work of the organization.

I had a great experience serving as an Americorps volunteer at CCL . During that time I has able to develop and implement a computer literacy program that would eventually, grow into a larger training program later in my career at the Center for Changing Lives. During this time I was able to learn about program development and design, all while working with the clients of CCL to obtain valuable computer skills so they could productively look for work.
