Successfully leading the business through turbulent times is what three generations of engineers in our family did well. While engineering design is my passion, I am pleased that as the third-generation owner of I led the business to become New Zealand leading designer and manufacturer of industrial shredders. Ever since I started my engineering career, I was interested in learning about challenges people have and the engineering solutions that can help. Over the years I was fortunate to be involved in CAD design for new products prototypes and improvement for industrial equipment designIf you know someone who has a need to have practical manufacture savvy CAD design done, I’d be happy to help.When we designed the first commercial shredder back in 1993, I never thought that will become my engineering specialty and that we will grow to become industry leaders in New Zealand and Australia.Learning more about waste management and associated challenges I am now a firm believer that there are many ways how ever-growing piles of waste can be better recycled, processed and in many cases re-used. Saving the planet is a real deal for me and my team because we are involved in this process every day with shredders we manufacture and advice we offer.In fact, we are amongst world leaders especially when it comes to custom shredding machines. The reason I’m so certain about that is because sometimes we are able to solve a problem of recycling a specific type of waste that no one else in the whole world was able to do. As a business leader and an expert CAD and CNC engineer I am driven by three simple yet profound principles:1. Have a drive to find a solution2. Aim to keep customers happy3. Commit to continuous improvementKey challenge in waste management is the ability to cut waste to as small parts as possible and that’s what shredders are created for. There is a growing volume of specialised waste that is not as easy to shred or which require material separation (like in vape recycling project).With ever changing land field rules, any kind of waste might require special recycling approach. So far, we were able to recycle every type of waste. Even though some of them present a significant engineering challenge.My important message for business owners, city councillors and everyone involved with recycling is that no matter how inconceivable the idea of shredding your waste might seem to you, don’t give up until you speak with professionals, like me and my team.
