Horsham Charity Events is a “not for profit” volunteer group based in Horsham Victoria, which has been going in one form or the other since 2011 (formally as part of the Dahlsens group via its social club coming up with a way to give something back to the people of the region that supported the store (for which we worked). Then in 2013 when the store was sold and the opportunity to continue these fundraising events was no longer available, these same staff members went out and formed Horsham Charity Events so as to continue doing something that gives back to those less fortunate than ourselves within the Wimmera region. The sole purpose of Horsham Charity Events is to use the groups combined contacts and individual abilities, be they commercial, private, sporting or others in a manner that supports the charities ability to raise much need funds for those less fortunate than ourselves. Funds are raised in several ways, either in the form of financial sponsorship, product donations, or sporting memorabilia donations. Product and sporting donations would then be auctioned off with all funds raised (after expenses) going to community organizations within the Wimmera region that needs financial supportIn order to get our support, these groups must firstly be Wimmera Region based and must fall within 1 or more of our fundamental requirements which is as follows.• Deals with under privileged children.• Deals with or cares for seriously ill children • Or the ongoing care of the chronically ill patients (e.g. Cancer or other long term illness) By meeting 1 or 2 of these 3 guidelines we feel that we can help make a difference in a person’s life, be it even for a moment by taking that person’s (either the child or the adults) mind of their problems and hopefully bring a small amount of joy to their lives.
