Director Of Exhibit DevelopmentHistory Colorado Aug 2016 - Jan 2018Denver, ColoradoResponsible for the design, fabrication and installation of permanent and temporary history museum exhibitions. Worked closely with educators, curators, advisors and the collections department to ensure designs met criteria for artifact conservation and protection. Coordinated efforts of in-house exhibits team and numerous contractors to develop multiple exhibits simultaneously. Managed the fast-paced construction of six exhibitions in under 16 months, projects included:• Preservation 50 - A temporary artifact display that highlighted fifty years of historic preservation in the state of Colorado. Opened October 2016.• Backstory: Western American Art in Context - This 9,000 sq. ft. exhibition combined priceless works of art from The Denver Art Museum with dozens of artifacts from the history museum’s collections. Opened in February 2017.• Byers Evans House Museum - I designed and managed a renovation to the historic 19th century carriage house to host new exhibits, the first of which highlighted women’s history in Colorado.• Ute Indian Museum - The expanded museum opened in June 2017. All exhibits were built by our team in Denver and transported to Montrose, Colorado for the five week long installation.• El Movimiento - I designed this new permanent exhibit that included artifacts, video stations and colorful graphic elements. The exhibit tells the story of the Chicano civil rights movement in the State of Colorado during the 1960’s and ’70’s. I worked with museum staff and a large advisory committee to develop the design.• The Centennial State in 100 Objects - I worked closely with museum staff to conceive, design, fabricate and install this exhibition in under one year. An all-new gallery was built to house the new permanent exhibition featuring one hundred artifacts from the History Colorado collections.
