Created a strategic plan for the Urban School Food Alliance through collaborative efforts with the USFA Board and relevant stakeholders. Helped USFA implement key actions steps in fulfillment of that plan. The USFA is a coalition of large urban school districts seeking to use their joint food procurement market clout to provide children with healthier, more nutritious food while using ever more environmentally appropriate packaging and materials. Assisted the alliance in expanding its membership, procuring new products and services and educating the public about the importance of these actions.

Empire State Future fuses messaging and leads collaborative efforts linking environmental protection, energy use reduction, equitable opportunity and economic development. Initiate and guide strategic partnerships with NYS environmental, civic and community organizations. Guide educational, advocacy, public outreach, governmental accountability and media efforts that in 2010-2013 helped pass the far-reaching Public Infrastructure Policy Act, Land Banks Act and Complete Streets bill. Made over 100 smart growth presentations statewide 2011-2013.Lead fundraising efforts. Grew the coalition from 23 to 72 organizations. The ESF Steering Committee includes the NY League of Conservation Voters, Environmental Advocates of NY, the Regional Plan Association, Vision Long Island, CenterState Corporation for Economic Opportunity among others.

Hired by the State Council on Waterways to draft an Action Plan to protect natural resources, and increase tourism, recreation and historic preservation of New York’s upstate canals and waterways. Worked closely with SCOW’s statewide Board. Later became a SCOW Board Member.

Oversaw all island Operations including ferry operations, facility management, procurement, security, vendors, and insurance. Developed comprehensive island transportation strategy. Negotiated multi-million dollar, multi-year contracts with ferry operators. In 2004, opened the island for large-scale public access that now measures in the hundreds of thousands.

Coordinated policy and implementation with NYC Environmental, Planning, and Economic Development agencies as well as Regional, State and Federal agencies. Served as liaison to MTA.
