As Director of Geotago Ltd, Peter is been responsible for the project delivery of residential, commercial and infrastructure based projects within the Otago and Southland area, working with developers, surveyors, architects, engineers and individuals. Employed as an engineering geologist for the last 26 years Peter has worked on a wide variety of engineering infrastructure projects in the UK, Ireland, Albania, Australia and New Zealand. His major projects have included the feasibility study for an international highway through Albania, the geological engineering for a high pressure gas pipeline over shallow mine workings in Scotland, risk management of Fox Glacier Valley, slope stability solutions for SH60 in Takaka, Tasman and overseeing the investigation for NZTA’s Christchurch Southern Motorway Stage 2, and delivery of the Investigation & Reporting and Procurement Phase of the Southern Corridor Improvement project (SH1, NZTA). Recent work in Otago and Southland has centred around rural residential subdivision and high end residential development on increasingly marginal land. This requires sound knowledge of both District and Regional Plans and Policies, assessment of natural hazards, investigation of ground conditions and broader knowledge of land development constraints and opportunities.
