• Team leader for the custom-engineered products group. Directed the daily operations to specify, design, and manufacture power distribution equipment per customer requests. Worked cross-functionally to create and streamline the new business process for this sub-group within APC.• Charter member of the ancillary power products group in 2000, an expansion into the 10-500kW power protection market. Developed ancillary power equipment, such as power distribution units, bypass panels, transformers, and battery systems.• Designed the company’s 150kW InfraStruXure® power distribution unit. The InfraStruXure product line provided total datacenter solutions to customers via enhanced modularity, scalability and manageability. • Developed a patented cable management system for datacenters – U.S. Patent #7425682.• From 1996-2000, created metal and plastic enclosures for power backup products for use in the home and office. Utilized Cadkey, SolidWorks, and the APC New Product Development (NPD) process.• Introduced a low-cost uninterruptible power supply (UPS) product line that provided the initial inroads to a large market opportunity in China. Supervised the manufacturing startup in Suzhou, China.• Led the development and release of a USB conversion cable, partnering with an industrial design firm, to enable existing UPS products to use USB functionality.

• Designed and detailed guide components, castings, and weldments in CADRA to optimize performance of steel and copper rolling mills.• Conducted material analysis using industry formulas to predict the behavior of the steel being processed and to specify proper roller sizing.

• Project manager for the development of a remote drill bit temperature monitor, overseeing the budget of $500,000 and partnering with Sandia National Labs. This critical component was designed to ensure safe temperatures while drilling and sampling highly combustible nuclear and hazardous wastes.• Researched new design concepts and improvements for sampling techniques that would be more cost effective for the Tank Waste Characterization program.• Conducted a study on particulate generation using a parametric model developed with Science Applications International Corporation. The results provided design criteria for the exhaust system required while drilling into hard tank wastes.• Controlled the planning and budget for the rotary core sampling project. Followed administrative practices set forth for government funding to track costs and limit spending.
