My career started as a Police Officer for SAPOL and after 30 years of working around in the State in various postings, I went to work at Baxter Detention Facility as part of the management team as the Investigations and Intelligence Manager then Quality / OHS Manager. Since then I have worked as a Regional Risk Advisor to local Councils on the Eyre Peninsula and now at Olympic Dam as a HSEQ Advisor. At Olympic Dam I have worked for Sandvik Mining and Construction (Metal work/Fabrication, Mechanical, Paint and Blasting and Crane Department), Cape Australia Onshore (Scaffolding company) and Boom Logistics (Cranes company). I am now retired, available as a consultant for Work Health and Safety operations.I have completed the Diploma in OHS and also have Certificate IV in Training and Assessment. I am competent in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and Internet along with MyOsh management system software.I have an extensive knowledge of legislation and practices relating to workplace health and safety in South Australia, along with relevant return to work practices as a Return to Work Coordinator.I have well developed verbal and written skills which allow me to effectively communicate with all levels of organisations.My skills and experience include: Professional approach and attitude as a health and safety professional Good listening and communication skills with a good rapport with the various stakeholders
