Worked in the Baltimore Area Office for 14 months (June 2021-August 2022) estimating projects. Responsibilities included site visitations, subcontractor and supplier outreach and development, and quantity takeoff. Additionally, I participated in early waterline work on the MD 4 over Suitland Parkway Project. I am currently a Field Engineer on the I40 Gorge Bridge Project in Clyde North Carolina.

Assigned to the Arlington Memorial Bridge Rehabilitation, along with Kiewit's Virtual Work Experience (VWE)

During this Co-Op rotation for Independence Excavating (IX) I was immersed in several sides of the construction process simultaneously. While the majority of the rotation was working on site as a field engineer, I would also routinely be asked to assist in take-offs of projects IX were looking into. One of these projects was the Tuscarora Mountain Tunnel Rehabilitation Project for the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission. IX was selected as the sub-contractor which would be completing the mass demolition of the tunnels. My role in this estimate included taking-off of the material which was designated to be demolished, and seeking out and contacting local waste removal agencies. I also solicited quotes from subcontractors and suppliers once our material and equipment needs were decided upon. While working as a Field Engineer I completed and submitted daily reports pertaining to present labor and equipment as well as safety briefing completion to the Prime Contractor for the project. I also calculated, wrote, and submitted necessary change orders and submittals. I walked the site daily recording progress or any areas of concern through photographs. During these walk-through's I would also complete Erosion and Soil Inspections and write up a report when necessary by state law. When instructed by the Foreman or Superintendent for the project I would also coordinate the requisite number of TRI-axle trucks or the procurement of required building materials and supplies. Both of these tasks were completed through IX's subcontractors and well as in-house personnel.

While working for Independence Excavating I worked both in their Pittsburgh Office with Estimating Team and on the Project Management side at their Freedom Rd site in Beaver County, PA. During my time with the estimating team I worked on several project which were awarded to the company. Primarily doing pipeline takeoff and quote solicitation calls to contractors and suppliers. While on site at Freedom Rd. I worked closely with both Penn-DOT and their Engineering Consultants, in addition to our own supervisors, daily on items ranging from Certificates of Compliance to site Erosion and Soil Control Inspections. I also coordinated equipment and material needs, inventory, and maintenance for the site. Examples include stone deliveries, precast and pipe stock, and machine availability.

During my time working for Pops Leather, seasonally, I had various jobs as a Retail and Customer Service Representative. These included being a liaison for the customer with the Turkish producers and advising them on customized products. I also processed retail and online orders as well as inventoried and restocked items throughout the day and represented the company at formal charity events.
