Hi, my name is Peter Gibbs. I am an Embedded Software Engineer II at DISH. I started out developing software for linux set top boxes in C/C++. But gradually transitioned to DevOps work developing a FullStack test automation platform for our hardware that uses Golang, react, python, Kafka, Docker, docker-compose, as well as machine vision tools like fastRCNN and tesseract. During this process I oversaw a majority of the SDLC from architecture planning all the way to deployment. Even in the face of uncertain requirements I was able to deliver a product that the client not only enjoyed, but showed interest in asking for more features even after the initial release.I am able to take on projects quickly. During the start of the pandemic I made a frontend which allowed Engineers to control the hardware in their cube remotely, which allowed our team to still meet deadlines even during the transition period to WFHI have worked in a SaFe 5.0 Agile environment which I believe helps manage developer workload while maintaining productivity.I still maintain a passion for embedded systems even as a hobby doing IoT for fun. I recently wrote firmware for various sensors placed around my house which report data to our home automation platform via MQTT. Although I really enjoy the embedded field and IoT. I would also be a good fit for anything in Machine Learning, Machine Vision, Data science, FullStack, DevOps, and much more.
