As part of this role I oversee the day-to-day technical operations of the ChemCentre ICT infrastructure and related services, as well as manage the servicedesk/helpdesk operations for the 160 staff, 350 user and instrument workstations.All the responsibilities of my former Network Administrator roles have been maintained and extended with greater responsibility within ICT related Project management/delivery, strengthening ICT Information Security policies, procedure and capability within ChemCentre and managing an ICT helpdesk/service desk staff member.I am currently involved with in the Office of Digital Government's (DGov - Part of DPC) Cyber Security reference group and in addition to the day-to-day operations, working towards transitioning ChemCentre's ICT infrastructure to WA's GovNext-ICT private and public cloud service providers. I am responsible for the management of the technical support, infrastructure administration, policy and procedures of all Information Communication Technology at ChemCentre. There is never a dull moment in my role while I support 120 staff and just under 300 PCs to ensure that ICT is not holding them back from providing Chemical and Forensic Science services for Western Australia. When I am not busy helping someone with a technical question or problem, you will find me testing, planning, writing documentation or reports, reviewing security audits and risk assessments, updating policy or coding up powershell scripts to keep the place running as efficiently as possible. During my time at Westnet I was given shift leader and senior technical (level 2) support roles as a result of my experience and ability to work with my colleges and customers. I further developed a number of my customer service and technical troubleshooting skills in this role which are the basis for much used in my IT career. Show less
