In that role I was responsible for building, supporting and growing the technical infrastructure to support the implementation of the Cerner solution. This solution eventually grew to support a number of regional hospitals as well as our own.My next role at LHSC was Coordinator of Technology Solutions. It began the week prior to the turn of the clock on Y2K, and our hospital was well positioned after having spent many months working with vendors, applying patches, and replacing products that could not be made Y2K-compliant. This role provided a great opportunity for me test and build my people management skills.In 2004 I was fortunate to be promoted to the Director of Informaton Technology Services, responsible for data centre, help desk and server management functions. During my time in this role we built two Level 3+ data centres, built a virtual IT department combining our IT staff with those from the Catholic hospital and worked with our regional hospital partners to build a closed-loop network for patient care. On the network we built a shared PACS system and shared Cerner system serving many hospitals.In 2009 the role was expanded to Director, Information Services, where the additonal roles of application systems delivery, interface and reporting and clinical IT services were added. I also served as the Chair of the Director's Council at LHSC as well as chair of Leadership Forum.
