In this role I strive to provide the best IT services possible in support of the students, faculty and staff of the College. Encouraging our strong IT team to provide service "through the eyes of our students", we have introduced a much greater level of support for Apple products, assisted in the creation of new classroom technologies in support of learning, supported new and emerging pedagogical approaches to learning included flexible space and flipped classrooms. Evaluating alternative forms of service delivery based on corporate objectives, risks and opportunities.

I am overseeing the return of IS services after several years of being outsourced. I am involved in all areas of IS operations, am a member of the Capital Planning committee and am working collaborative with other departments on areas where our department can add value to their service.

I began my career at London Health Sciences Centre as a Technology Consultant. In that role I was responsible for building, supporting and growing the technical infrastructure to support the implementation of the Cerner solution. This solution eventually grew to support a number of regional hospitals as well as our own.My next role at LHSC was Coordinator of Technology Solutions. It began the week prior to the turn of the clock on Y2K, and our hospital was well positioned after having spent many months working with vendors, applying patches, and replacing products that could not be made Y2K-compliant. This role provided a great opportunity for me test and build my people management skills.In 2004 I was fortunate to be promoted to the Director of Informaton Technology Services, responsible for data centre, help desk and server management functions. During my time in this role we built two Level 3+ data centres, built a virtual IT department combining our IT staff with those from the Catholic hospital and worked with our regional hospital partners to build a closed-loop network for patient care. On the network we built a shared PACS system and shared Cerner system serving many hospitals.In 2009 the role was expanded to Director, Information Services, where the additonal roles of application systems delivery, interface and reporting and clinical IT services were added. I also served as the Chair of the Director's Council at LHSC as well as chair of Leadership Forum.

My career at Digital Equipment began as a software specialist, writing code for the first automated Kelloggs cereal plant in Canada. I also did programming in the Pharmacy, Finance, Auto and Chemical industries. Later, I moved into system integration work, connecting PC networks into mini and mainframe environments. Systems administration and management of VMSclusters was a natural progression from systems integration. In my final year I moved into a sales support role, helping with pre- and post-sales opportunities within Southwestern Ontario. This allowed me to hone my presentation and people skills.During my time at Digital I was fortunate to become a VMS Partner, a group of worldwide Digital staff who helped steer the future direction of what was then the world's best operating system.
